OXNARD, CALIF. - ITS Corporation, a provider of information technology and engineering solutions to the U.S. government, recognized ANACAPA Micro Products, Inc. as its Small Business Vendor of the Year for 2005. ANACAPA Micro, headquartered in Ventura, Calif., accepted the award at a ceremony held at the ITS home office in Oxnard, Calif. on Aug. 22, 2006.
According to Tom Sundling, president and CEO of ITS, subcontracting to small and disadvantaged businesses is more than just a government requirement ITS follows. Rather, it is a major component in the ITS growth strategy. ITS awards about 90 percent of its subcontracted work to small and disadvantaged businesses.
"We see our Small Business Program as a smart way to leverage our core competencies and to co-market and co-brand with partners who understand the business of supporting the federal government," said Sundling. "We work with companies that know our business and our customers. This program goes beyond mere compliance; it's our approach to the marketplace and how we best deliver service."
ANACAPA Micro was an ideal partner. Not only is ANACAPA a HUBZone Small Business, located just a few miles from ITS, ANACAPA shares common links and interests, such as working with the Navy Marine Corps Intranet. These synergies, according to Elisa Franklin, director of contracts and small business advocate for ITS, led ANACAPA Micro to join ITS' SeaPort-e contract team.
"ANACAPA Micro has provided ITS and its customers with exemplary services since day one," said Franklin. "It's because of outstanding and consistent support to ITS in 2005 that we recognize ANACAPA as our Small Business Vendor of the Year."
"We are honored to be a part of ITS' successful small business outreach program," said Ken Marks, president and CEO of ANACAPA Micro Products, Inc. "ITS afforded us the opportunity to expand our reach in the government and military space and those efforts have been more than successful for us at ANACAPA Micro. Our relationship with ITS is a winning partnership."
ANACAPA Micro was also recognized, via letter or certificate, by:
