OXNARD, CALIF. — ITS Corporation, a provider of information technology and engineering solutions to the U.S. government, announced today that Dr. Jeffrey A. Goldman, PMP, was recently awarded two STONER awards from the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Operational Support Office's Engineering Division. The award, named after Ken Stone, is given to individuals who support the NRO with innovative ideas that are taken forward and ultimately result in outside funding.
Dr. Goldman, a member of the NRO Technology Fellows class of 2003, was recognized for his work with the NRO's Technology Fellowship Program, which has the objective of improving relationships and long-term sense of community between the NRO, other members of the intelligence community, operational customers, and industry.
"Jeffrey is an exceptional scientist, and we're proud of the work that he has provided to NRO and our country," said Thomas Sundling, president of ITS Corporation.
The NRO is the national program that meets the U.S. government's intelligence needs through space-borne reconnaissance. The NRO is an agency of the Department of Defense (DOD) and receives its budget through that portion of the National Foreign Intelligence Program known as the National Reconnaissance Program. This program is approved both by the Secretary of Defense and the Director of the National Intelligence. The existence of the NRO was declassified on September 18, 1992.
Dr. Goldman is currently the chief scientist at ITS and works out of the company's Arlington office. He joined the company in 2005 and has more than 10 years experience in data mining, remote sensing, and knowledge management technologies. With more than 800 employees worldwide, ITS provides this country's armed forces and civilian government with award-winning IT and engineering services.
